Sisterakas maintains its lead and claims Highest Grossing MMFF Movie of All Time after it registered a whooping p342 Million according to the Official and Final Box Office Results of MMFF 2012- 2nd Week Gross released by the festival committee and MMDA.

Another Star Cinema movie One More Try edges out movie franchise, Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at si AKO and landed on the 2nd spot. The latter drops to 3rd position. Completing the top 4 slot is Shake, Rattle and Roll 14: The Invasion.

Sisterakas of Star Cinema and Viva Films is unstoppable in raking ticket sales. According to the latest tally of Box Office Results of MMFF 2012 First Week Gross, the comedy flick registered a whooping P202.7M in just 7 days!

Sisterakas is the third Filipino film that reached P200 Million gross mark, the two other films were The Mistress and This Guy’s In Love With You Mare.

Angel Locsin Congratulates MMFF 2012 Best Actress Nora Aunor

One More Try star Angel Locsin congratulates Thy Womb star Nora Aunor for winning the MMFF 2012  Best Actress Award.

The strongest rival for the said award, Angel personally gives her respect to the Superstar as she personally congratulates her for breaking MMFF records as the Most Awarded MMFF Best Actress for 8 non-consecutive years! As what movie experts say ‘Nora Aunor is Nora Aunor‘, so even with a superb performance from generation’s young superstar like Angel, La Aunor acting prowess remains the most brilliant and stands out among other nominees which includes Angelica Panganiban, Judy Ann Santos and Ai Ai delas Alas.

Meanwhile, Angel’s co-actor in their movie Dingdong Dantes took his 2nd consecutive win as Best Actor. Thy Womb was  not included in the Top 3 Best Picture this year but Brillante Mendoza triumphed as Best Director. Adult-family film One More Try gets the highest recognition as the Best Picture of MMFF 2012.

Sisterakas is unbeatable at no. 1 and widens lead from Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako according to the 3rd day gross standing of Metro Manila Film Festivals 2012.

Award-winning MMFF films El Presidente and Thy Womb both suffer in the box-office corner while GMA Films’ Sossy Problems progresses.

The 38th Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 (MMFF) Awards Night and Nominees + Winners to be Announced!

The 38th Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 takes place in Meralco Theater, Ortigas City tonight, December 27, 2012 around 5:00 PM where the brightest stars are gathered to witness the annual event of recognizing the best of MMFF movies this year.

This year seemed to have a short-list for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Picture. For example, for Best Actor category, it’s quite probable that E.R. Ejercito who portrays Aguinaldo in El Presidente will win this thing. Other names to be considered are Dingdong Dantes for One More Try, Bembol Roco in Thy Womb and the dark-horse Enchong Dee for his monstrous role in The Strangers.

For the Best Actress category only two names are expected to have a head to head battle, Nora Aunor for the internationally acclaimed Thy Womb and Angel Locsin, netizens’ number 1 choice for her super performance in One More Try.

On the other hand Thy Womb, El Presidente and One More Try will likely headline the Best Picture nominees since box office returns are officially not considered as MMDA Chairman announces.
