Philippines’ King of Comedy Dolphy Died At Age of 83!

A very sad Breaking News! Our very own King of Comedy Dolphy died this  evening July 10, 2012 at the  age  of 83 as confirmed by his wife singer/actress Zsa Zsa Padilla.

It was also also confirmed by TV stations and of course by his relative through social networking sites. The Comedy King will surely miss by his filipino fans all over the world.


We would like to inform the public that Mr. Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, passed away today, at 2034H (8:34PM) due to Multiple Organ Failure, secondary to complications brought about by Severe Pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Acute Renal Failure.

We join the entire Filipino Community in praying for the soul of Mr. Quizon and his dearly beloved family and friends. To the Quizon Family, we extend our deepest condolences.

He was started from the humble beginning through selling peanuts, Watermelon seeds, etc.

He admired the tandem of pugo and togo which influenced him to be a stage performer. Golay was hist first screen name, Dolphy got his first movie with Fernando Poe Sr. (Father of his friend FPJ).
The comedy king started his first TV Show at ABS-CBN (Buhay Artista) with a talent fee of 1000 pesos, and soon followed by many shows which eventually made him where is he now.

Dolphy is open in public when it comes with his relationship to six women named :

Engracia (Gracia) Dominguez — an actress he met during a stage show (separated in 1963), six children: Manny (Manny Boy), Salud (Sahlee), Rodolfo Jr. (Dolphy Jr.), Freddie (Baby), Edgar, and Raul (Rolly).

Gloria Smith — an actress he met in 1956, four children: Mariquita (Kaye),
Carlos, Geraldino (Dino), and Edwin.

Baby Smith — an actress whose screen name was Pamela Ponti, four children:
Ronaldo (Ronnie), Enrico (Eric), Madonna (Dana), and Jeffrey (Epi).

Evangeline Tugalao — a nurse he met in the late 60s while shooting in a hospital, one child: Rommel.

Alma Moreno — an actress he met in 1981, one child: Vandolph.

Zsa Zsa Padilla, with whom he has two daughters: Nicole (adopted) and Zia

  2. God’s love is truly immeasurable, mysterious, beyond fathom. His ways are not our ways. When DOLPHY inaudibly muttered the words “uwi na” he may have been trying to tell everyone around that his CREATOR was calling him to come home; more peaceful, no more pain and suffering.
    As we say goodbye to the man, we remember his greatness, his becoming taller than he was. He was not perfect. In so many ways he was flawed, in fact. But he made his craft a perfection to everyone circulating into the very fiber of our being FILIPINOS, to find a way to SMILE in the midst of difficulties.
