Cristine Reyes revealed on Tuesday that she never had a close relationship with her elder half-sister Ara Mina and blamed the latter for dragging out their feud and turning it into a public spectacle.
“Mahirap humingi ng tawad sa isang taong ayaw makipagpatawaran,” she told the media during a photoshoot for her new endorsement deal.
Cristine added that her efforts at a reconciliation had all gone for naught since the feud broke out in April last year after Ara sued her for libel and grave coercion.
“Matagal na ‘ko nag-iinsist na magkabati kami, na pumunta sa house niya. … Pero sa mga nangyayari ngayon, every move I make masama ako. Hindi ako mag-move masama pa rin ako. So hindi ako makagalaw! So sana ‘wag siya mag-eexpect ng anything from me kasi parang lahat na lang ng ginagawa ko pinapadiyaryo!” the actress lamented.
Cristine also addressed a recent complaint aired by Ara that Cristine had stopped confiding in her about problems of the heart. By Cristine’s reckoning, she never had that kind of relationship with Ara, feud or no feud.
“Never naman ako tumawag sa kanya ever no! Kahit nagkaro’n ako ng heartache. Kasi ever since naman, to tell you honestly, hindi kami gano’n ka-close ni Ate,” she declared.
“Nakakalungkot na sarili mong kapatid ginaganun ka, di ba?” she added. Ara expressed the exact same sentiments last year when she filed her lawsuit after Cristine had sent offensive text messages to her and other people in relation to a dispute over payments for a condominium unit the sisters had bought for their mother.
Nevertheless, Cristine remained hopeful that the feud would soon be resolved so she could be invited to Ara’s expected wedding this year to Bulacan, Bulacan mayor Patrick Meneses.
“OK lang ako. Willing talaga ako. Kahit… Kahit civil lang! Kahit di niya ako kaya sikmurain! Alam mo ‘yun masikmura, makita? Basta ok kami. Sana man lang pagbigyan niya,” Cristine said.
While Ara is headed for a trip down the aisle, Cristine is currently single after a recent break-up with her boyfriend of one year, Rayver Cruz.
But she was quick to note that she and Rayver have kept their friendship. This is important because they are working together on the new ABS-CBN drama series “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin”.
“Like kahapon sa trabaho namin pumupunta pa rin siya sa dressing room ko. Nangangamusta. Ganyan. So OK kami. Hindi ‘to parang magkagalit na nag-break,” she said.
Two Sundays ago, the ex-couple issued a joint announcement about their break-up but were vague about the reason they had ended their relationship. Cristine said they were both too young for each other. Both are 24 years old.
One intrepid member of the media asked her if it was true that the break-up happened because she had an abortion. The question clearly irked the actress, who rolled her eyes and gave this caustic, off-color reply: “Utot mo! Sa ‘yo lang ‘yan galing! Tigilan mo ako! Isyu ka ha!”
As for the talks linking her romantically to Derek Ramsay and Dennis Trillo, Cristine did not deny that she is in constant communication with both men nowadays.
“Naging constant na rin. Tawag-tawag, hang-out hang-out,” she said. She had earlier denied that Derek had caused her break-up with Rayver.
What about the rumor of her being seen recently visiting Dennis at his condo?
“Ever since naman nagko-communicate na kami e. So hindi na bago na nag uusap kami at nagkikita,” she replied.
