Controversial host/actress Kris Aquino gives up career for the welfare of her son, Baby James more popularly called as Bimby.
On primetime news program, TV Patrol, Kris together with her 3 sisters Ballsy, Pinky and Viel were interviewed by anchorman Ted Failon with regards to the TPO (Temporary Protection Order) against former husband James Yap to stay away from her, her 5-year-old son Bimby and any household member, keep a distance of at least 100 meters, and to stay away from her residence, school, place of employment or any place frequented by her and her son.
The award-winning host gets emotional as she reveals her resignation from her shows. She currently has 3 regular programs, Kris TV, Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 and primetime drama series Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw. She apologizes to her staff and co-workers and ask for understanding about her decision of giving up her showbiz career.
” Ako, I apologize to the workers, sana maunawaan ninyo, sacrificing this career, sacrificing this job. Bimby ginawa ko ang lahat para sayo. Kung pribado kami, di kami pag pipiyestahan. I’m giving up my shows. Tatalikuran ko ang karera dahil mas mahal ko ang anak ko. It’s not who’s telling the truth. Kawawa na si Bimby. I’m tendering my resignation. Sa puso ng isang nanay, ito ang dinidikta sakin (this is what a heart of a mother dictates). I’m giving up my shows.” Aquino says her sisters cautioned her against the move because of contractual obligations but she insists her obligations as a mother are more important, “I have to do what’s best for my son (James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap) & that means sacrificing my job.“
