Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo was recently attacked by netizens on social media particularly on Twitter and Instagram after she posted a greeting of “Merry Christmas” to her fans despite the fact that she’s an Iglesia Ni Cristo believer.
On her IG Account @http://instagram.com/bernardokath, the Got To Believe star posted a Merry Christmas greeting to all of her fans but unfortunately some of the followers of Iglesia Ni Cristo throws negative feedback against her.
According to an INC follower, what Kath did was against a particular doctrine of the INC which is they did not celebrate the birthdate of Jesus Christ. In short, no Christmas celebration!
“Indeed! Nakakalungkot lang kasi most of her fans hindi nila alam ang doctrines nating mga INC kaya hindi maintindihan ng ibang fans niya! It’s hard for this people to understand if Kathryn herself and her family don’t understand this doctrine.”
Another netizen commented, “So ipinagpalit mo na ang relihiyon mo sa kasikatan mo? 😦 Mas mahalaga pa rin si God kaysa sa kahit anong bagay”
On the other hand, fans of Kathryn defended her and explained that the greeting is like a thankful message for supporting all her projects and in some way, to enlighten the hearts of her fans in celebrating this annual event. Some said, Muslim do greet a Merry Christmas, why can’t the Iglesia Ni Cristo community do the same?
Kathryn is busy promoting her MMFF 2013 film Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay with loveteam Daniel Padilla. Pagpag is currently placed as third MMFF entry with the highest gross income for the opening day.
